Refund Policy
All refunds are made in accordance with anti-money laundering regulations and will be returned to the person or organisation that made the original payment. Refunds will be made using the same method as the original payment.
Refunds may be withheld if a student is in debt to the College.
We'll make every effort to process a refund within 14 working days of receipt of all required information. Be aware that it may take up to four weeks for the refund to arrive in the designated bank account.
Tuition Fee Refunds
If you have overpaid your tuition fees in error, contact the Finance Division at account@citiedgecollege.co.uk.
Withdrawal from Your Course
If you withdraw temporarily, you are not eligible for a tuition fee refund. Any overpayment will remain on your account until you return or permanently withdraw.
If you permanently withdraw, you may be eligible for a refund based on the College’s fee liability policy. Once your withdrawal is approved, contact the Finance Division at account@citiedgecollege.co.uk.
Summer School Refunds
For refunds related to Summer School programmes, please refer to the Summer School website.
Payments Made by a Third Party
Where payments are made by a third party, the College may require verification from the original payer before issuing a refund. For large refunds, additional documents such as bank statements or photo ID may be required.
The College does not transfer third-party payments to students under any circumstance. Refunds will always go back to the original payee.
Refunds to Overseas Banks
The College is unable to refund shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations or cover bank fees incurred during international transactions.
Visa Refusal
You may receive a refund, minus non-refundable administrative fees, if your UK student visa is refused after payment of your deposit or tuition fees.
College Cancellation
If the university cancels your course, you are entitled to a full refund.
Withdrawal Before or After Enrolment
- Before enrolment: Refunds may be available if you withdraw before enrolment or before a CAS is issued (deposits may be forfeited).
- After enrolment: Refunds are on a sliding scale — the later in the term, the smaller the refund.
Overpayments
Any overpayments made toward tuition fees will be refunded in full.
Situations Where Refunds Are Unlikely
- Fraudulent or misleading applications.
- Failure to meet academic entry requirements.
- Withdrawal due to disciplinary or academic misconduct.
How to Get a Refund
- Check this policy and your specific programme refund terms.
- Contact the Admissions or Finance Division.
- Provide all supporting documentation (proof of payment, visa refusal letter, etc.).
- Submit a formal written withdrawal notice to the College.
Where We Cannot Continue Your Course
In exceptional cases (e.g., course cancellation or loss of accreditation), the College will refund tuition fees paid. Compensation may be offered for additional verifiable expenses (such as travel to the UK).
International Masters Tuition Fee Deposits
International applicants' deposits are usually non-refundable. Refunds are only granted under exceptional circumstances.
Accommodation Refunds
If you have overpaid or moved to a lower-priced room, you may request a refund by emailing housing@citiedgecollege.co.uk.
Other Reimbursements
Credits on your account will be offset against other outstanding charges. For any refund queries, contact the Finance Division at account@citiedgecollege.co.uk.
